LibreTranslate works out of the box but its quality is limited. LLM mode uses a large language model with your own API key for much better results. The key never leaves your browser.
The default instance works without a key. Fill this in only if your instance requires one, e.g. the official libretranslate.com. The key is stored only in your browser (localStorage).
Point to any LibreTranslate instance, e.g. translate.libregalaxy.org, a community mirror, or a self-hosted one.
The key is sent only to the provider you picked and stored only in your browser (localStorage). For OpenAI-compatible endpoints (OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, local servers) the app calls /chat/completions; for Anthropic it uses /v1/messages.
